Prior to joining the healthcare engineering team at Loughborough University, she worked for Protagonist therapeutics, Inc. (Australia & US) as part of the biology R&D team. She was fast tracked to senior scientist and led the preclinical assay development and validation (in vitro-in vivo). Her work here contributed to major on-going collaboration between Protagonist and Ironwood Pharmaceuticals, Inc.

She is a multidisciplinary scientist with a research focus on innovative manufacturing and biological engineering for healthcare technologies. She has worked with leading national and international, commercial and academic collaborators to develop manufacturing processes for cell based products; specifically blood products. Notably, she was Loughborough’s lead researcher on an international collaborative project for large scale manufacture of a universal blood product funded by DARPA. She continues to work in this area as part of a team focused on innovative manufacturing science for blood cell products.
