Strong Centre presence at MIT Biomanufacturing Summit
November 18-19 saw the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Centre for Biomedical Innovation host a two day Summit on Cell and Gene Therapy Biomanufacturing. The summit brought together thought leaders from industry, academia and government for a series of invited presentations and panel discussions. The event focused on identifying the current issues in Cell and Gene Therapy manufacturing, utilising technologies to ensure product safety and the challenges surrounding sustainable commercial manufacturing.
Day one of the summit featured a keynote from Professor David Williams on “Manufacturing Challenges for Cell and Gene Therapies”. Day two of the summit featured invited presentations by Jamie Thurman-Newell on “Analysis of Biological Variation in Blood-based Therapy as a Precursor to Biomanufacturing” and Dr Mark McCall delivered a talk on “Understanding Manufacturing Costs in T-Cell Production and Distribution.”
